Update on Easy Peasy 1.1

Oh man, am I tired – I’ve quit school to be able to work full time with Easy Peasy!
We working on some great new stuff.

  • New webpage (really much needed (!) ): Lasse has made a great design and a unified look for, forums, wiki, backgrounds, presentations etc.
  • Easy Peasy 1.1: Only a screenshot :) We’re trying to get a release candidate ready for the weekend!

Epc1.1rc screenshot

  • Easy Peasy 2.0: We’re also working towards Easy Peasy 2.0, where we’re implementing some really exciting features

How does the screenshot look? Like the background, like that the logo has been moved to the top left corner, like the icon theme?

New features in Easy Peasy 2.0

Work on the blueprint for Easy Peasy 2.0 has started, but before it’s released we’ll release 1.* releases. We’re working to get one out every month. I’m working on a daily-image-server which creates up to date images to keep the development running :) Anyway, here’s what you can expect from Easy Peasy 2.0 released sometime after April.

  • Built on Ubuntu 9.04
  • Better looking
  • More net / netbook features
  • New file system which brings faster booting, loading and work flow
  • A whole new notification system, as shown in the movie below
  • A simple new menu which can be used to set preferences for notification icons, such as where they pop up on the taskbar
  • File synchronization through Dropbox

Call for help: design, design, design

Now that we know how Ubuntu Eee will be re-branded, we need help designing web-pages, wallpapers and so on.

If you have an idea for the web-page, please launch your favorite image editor and create a mockup. Design it a way that you can actually create :) Don’t waste your time on it – it’s just a mock up. Thanks for contributing your time!

The image can be uploaded on the wiki. The design is going to be used on the webpage, the forums, the wiki and so on. So we need a generic design, we’ll make a less generic front page afterwards.

Thanks again!
