We’re proud to announce Easy Peasy 1.1! This is how the first Easy Peasy release really should be: No stupid bugs, no ubuntu logos. You will be able to upgrade from tomorrow, but can get the the full iso already today.
A brand new look
- New icon theme, a modified version of Victor Castillejos Gnome Colors, by lassegs
- New wallpaper which is part of the new visual profile (i.e. on Twitter), also by lassegs
- New splash screen and login screen, still by lassegs
Fixed bugs
- Lots of bugs fixed
- And upgrades. Many upgrades, like Songbird and Flash
New webpage
Now we can really start working on Easy Peasy 2.0

There seems to be no md5 or other checksum available to verify the Easy Peasy 1.1 download from sourceforge.net
Go here for md5 and torrent.

nevermind, scratch that. version 1.0
I gotta start downloading! I want to see how lasse got the usplash working!
One of the links (http://www.jonramvi.com/easy-peasy-11-rc2-due-any-day-now/) return “500 Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was
unable to complete your request.”
I send an e-mail to page administrator (webmaster@jonramvi.com) as described on error page it bounced back :(
Maybe I will wait also with upgrade…?
thanks for all the great work on Easy Peasy; just new to it; couldn’t get Skype to go on 1.0 and having downloaded 1.1, still cannot speak out; otherwise, a great system; all best wishes
So is this interface available for other distros yet ? I would love to use this interface with IceWM on ArchLinux on my old desktop for my linux-noob family.
Thank you for this new nice one distro! :) Great Work!…
Regards,Radovan
no stupid bugs? no ubuntu logos?…no problem…but don’t forget…basically you’re saying ubuntu is stupid with bugs etc…hm…strange when this one is based on ubuntu…nice words to chose for a release announcement.
I’ve downloaded it but was disappointed to see that my wifi card (atheros) didn’t work “out of the box”. I’m a Linux n00b and would like things to just work without fiddling in terminal. The looks however are great!
It looks good, bu no info or guides on how to upgrade to easy peasy 1.1 from 1.0 keeping all my data. Is a complete install needed? Currently running 1.0 on a 901 without any problems.
W00t! I’ve been looking forward to the latest version. Downloading the ISO now on Bittorrent and will seed.
I’ve been having difficulties with Jaunty on my new 1000HE, so I’m hoping this will resolve them.
Thanks.
Awesome, Jon! Thanks.
Is there going to be a way to upgrade using apt-get?
Hi,
Does this version support hotkey use of the external VGA port? I would like to move from the default OS [forgotten the name] but all distro’s I ave tried on my EEE don’t make it easy [using the hot keys] to enable the VGA out, which is a must for me.
Thanks.
So how do I upgrade from 1.0 to 1.1? Without downloading the entire new ISO if possible.
OK, if I can find and replace every instance of the distro’s name, I’ll give it a shot.
Deleted v 1.0, installed v1.1,on Aspire One. Firefox now only opens in small box. Not usable. Can’t find workaround, back to v1.0 ?
So how can i upgrade now from 1.1 RC2? Have probs with 3G Connect and need it running! Help please.
I love Easy Peasy but a little more information would be wonderful …
Will it support Itunes and ODBC ? I would like to install on my HP mini 1000, but with out that support it’s a no go for me. Looks good though.
So, will this make my olpc xo not suck?
Hi, I’m trying to download easypeasy. Download speed is around 15-30 kB/s (really slow). All attempts have failed so far. I’m trying ktorrent now. The success of easypeasy is linked to ease of download. Would it be possible to use other faster mirrors, like university servers around the world? I’m looking forward to trying easypeasy on the eee.
Best regards Einar
Here’s how you upgrade from Easy Peasy 1.0: http://wiki.geteasypeasy.com/Upgrade_to_Easy_Peasy_1.1
Hooray! I loves the EeezyPeasies, thanks! Though, for lack of spare time and sanity, I may hold out on upgrading until the 2.0 release. Jaunty!
Are there any changes from 1.1.rc2?
I have tried to upgrade from EasyPeasy 1.0 . I could only perform a partial upgrade following to an error message :
W: GPG error: http://ppa.launchpad.net intrepid Release: The following signatures couldn’t be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 60D11217247D1CFF
W: GPG error: http://ppa.launchpad.net intrepid Release: The following signatures couldn’t be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 3F2A5EE4B796B6FE
I also tried with apt-get update –allow-unauthenticated and apt upgrade –allow-unauthenticated ;
#apt-get upgrade –allow-unauthenticated
Reading package lists… Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information… Done
The following packages have been kept back:
go-home-applet libmetacity0 linux-eeepc linux-headers-eeepc

Also with the –allow-unauthenticated I was not able to complete the upgrade …
Best regards.

I have downloaded and installed
easy peasy 1.1 on my 701sd. I am impressed, and thank all the developers for their work.
But version 1.0 allowed me to install the OS onto an SDHC card in the card reader when installing from a usb stick, I was unable to do this with 1.1
Hi,
thanks for your great work. I Just upgraded from easypeasy 1.0 to 1.1. It looks great, I love it. If its going on with easypeasy like this, there is no reason to change to Ubuntu 9.04 NBR. Your closer to eeepc. By the way, what magic happened: Zattoo works even better after the upgrade. Its a great piece of software, watching Internet TV on my 701.
So just wanted to say thank you for tuning my eeepc in such a great machine. Greetings from the sunny lake of constance, southern germany. Tobias
Could we have some sort of “changelog” for this new version ??
Runs well on my 901, which I received last night and installed 1.1 on half hour later (because I upgraded ram first), after having tried 1.0 on my 701.
As with any OS, I still found a lot of things worth disabling, removing, or reconfiguring, but Easy Peasy’s required the least tweaking of anything I’ve tried. The high point of my install was when I saw the default /etc/fstab, and didn’t have to change a thing.
Hi there,
I am trying to access the download, but it is sayin “403 Forbidden”.
Best regards!
Carlos
hello,i have to say this is the frist linux distro that worked on my wireless wifi card .i like the theme. thank you. my pc is a gate way MX6214 . it runs good on easy peasy.
Dobra robota! = Good job! / Dzięki = Thank You.

The system does not recognize SD media after installing Easy Peasy. How do I fix this?
Good work! Curious how 2.0 will work on my EEE900. But please: Include drivers and utils for using my eGalax touchscreen! That would make it more perfect… :-)

My experience: go into the Bios and change Installing new OS to finished: this will make your SD-reader (and webcam) available again…
Sorry for the huge review, but I’m really loving the benten, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.
